The Goal of this event is to have our newcomers (recent immigrants)

come and network and enable them with the community and for them to

experience the heart of our community.

What this event entails is that anyone that would like to come out this

is event, RSVP preferred, would bring their unused/unwanted clothing out to

the location (Grassroots Church). For every 2 articles of clothing an

individual brings will allow that person to pick 1 article of clothing. Items

would be counted and Tickets will be provided for a means for exchange for

clothing. This would give the newcomers an opportunity to select clothing at

no expense to their wardrobe as some have few clothing or unable to

currently expand their wardrobe due to their immigration to Canada.

Tables will be provided to individuals and groups. Setup will be at

11:00am 1 hour before the start of the event giving everyone the opportunity

to get organized and ready. The event will end at 4:00pm and the facility

vacated by 5:00pm

There will be a display area for any organizations that are willing to

give newcomers an opportunity to become familiar with different

organizations and their role in the community.

Just a few more key points:

- Please ensure that all garments are washed and in good repair

- We cannot permit undergarments and socks in the exchange due to

sanitary reasons

- Adult and Kids clothing are welcome

- Winter wardrobe is the theme but is not limited to those things

- Monetary Donations will be accepted at the door to help cover part

of the cost for the facility use.

- Clothing donations will also be accepted at the door if there are

those that cannot stay for the event.
